@noelle I assume it's standard equipment on Stormtrooper utility belts. They seem like the sort to be overprepared.
3d printer babbling
A new steel-plated nozzle and a little feedpath messing-around later, et voila: The Folly is now tooled up for production with abrasive filaments, like carbon fiber PLA, on a regular basis. Between support pieces for the experimental model of printer to follow ( "Fates" ) and skeletal pieces to hang Tin Dog's infrastructure off of, I suspect it'll be generating carbon-fibre PLA for some time to come. Plus, I really like the look and feel of the stuff - a pleasing texture.
@Leucrotta Ah, hyperbole. n.n
@JulieSqveakaroo *gentle hvgs* I'm sorry it's been a day, 'roo.

@Oneironott ... Wait. You imported coyotes to Seattle?! YOU'RE A WALKING DREAMTIME SPOUT. O.O
@MicroSFF It is not, perhaps, the tale I expected. And yet, it is beautiful.

@JulieSqveakaroo I am tempted.
Work (+)
@001zlnv The latter would be most sensical, but the problem's really just a broken wire - so I'm going to repair the break with a jumper or two and reinstall the original part. I try to reuse the original equipment as much as possible. It's like Herbie the Love Bug, the magic's in the steel. n.n

The laser (1800W suborbital doom-beam) at work, has another laser (dinky little 5V LED chip laser with a diffraction grate cross lens) bolted to it, to show what the doom beam emitter is pointed at. See, the 'bore through you faster than you can blink' laser isn't visible-light spectrum, so it comes with a keychain laser to show what's gonna get lased.
And *that* laser is frotzed.
It needs a seeing-eye laser so we can lase with the laser you can't see.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
