I've been a professional PHP dev for 11 years now and I've learned a few things about programming from this perspective:
• PHP is the worst language for generating dynamic web content server-side still in heavy use (for so many reasons)
• JS is in almost all cases a worse language than PHP, but its sins are offset by its usefulness in running client-side, thus getting processing load off your server
• node.js must have been a practical joke that got out of control

Well if you don't want to try something other than MSPhotoEditor... Try saving it as a different format? Maybe PNG?
@green @literorrery Some photo editing programs simply change the orientation metadata of a photo instead of physically rotating the photo itself.
The end result is that when you upload that photo to a service that strips metadata (like most web services), the metadata telling the browser the correct orientation is lost and the image appears sideways.
