@ShugoWah the only real downside to an enormous instance is that the local timeline isn't going to be all that relevant to you--that means you kinda gotta rely on boosts and already knowing people to make your feed not extremely quiet
but yeah! it'll likely be around a long time! some other instances that have patreons will likely stick around quite a while too

@SomeEgrets oh! the reason i'm mentioning PWAs is because they don't require you to install anything
you can use them from mobile browsers, and "adding" them to your home screen just saves a manifest that makes them act like an app
they're pretty neat imo!
@SomeEgrets oh yeah, it's not bad! i used the PWA for quite a long time (which you can get by adding the site to your home screen from a mobile browser)

personally, i use a lighter PWA called "pinafore", which is noticably much faster than the native one: https://pinafore.social/
