@neonNeptunian oh my gooooosh I love the pre-Cambrian weirdoes, Hallucigenia and Wiwaxia and Anomalocaris and Opabinia, I love the Burgess Shale and it's the only digsite I've ever really wanted to work because the climate isn't horrible for me. XD

@anthracite @zebratron2084 yeah, Spouse didn't pre-buy tickets, so we ended up having to wait an hour or so at the mall until a showing with non-front-row seats opened up. and yeah, it's *really good* and gosh-dang beautiful in parts (in cinematics, general visual design, *and* emotional/social response), and I look forward to seeing what y'all think of it! :D

@guerrillarain@witches.town I trained some in captioning, as a subset of court reporting, and I'd be doing that as a career now if the "school" I made the mistake of attending hadn't been a money-sucking scam. so yeah, I have Opinions about captioning, mainly that it's good, we need more people who can do it, and we need to pay them really well so they can keep doing it and do more of it. and yeah, captioning in movies should be fucking standard. :|

also last night after the second end credits scene somebody in the audience actually *yelled* "Bucky!" and EVERYBODY LAUGHED. like YES WE KNOW IT'S BUCKY, CALM DOWN.

mentioned the idea to Spouse (about T'Challa/Erik, not Shuri, he knows about that) and he said "yeah but that's not the way T'Challa works. That's more of a Captain America thing." I said "Yeah... Cap and Bucky, sitting on the car talking about their feelings at the end of every episode OH GOD THEY'RE A SUPERNATURAL AU AREN'T THEY" (except without the incest I guess)

also there was a trailer for the next Jurassic Park movie and NO I DIDN'T CRY SHUT UP YOU'RE CRYING. not because of the content other than EEEEEE DINOSAURS. I just hope to hell it isn't as much of a total stinkshow as the last one.

@hummingrain yah, that's legit. Spouse & I got super lucky with this place; moving away from housemates who have a vehicle and into an apartment within easy walking distance of a major transit hub = *still* don't need to get a car. I figure we'll probably have to get one sometime in the next decade, though, as one or the other of us starts losing mobility. yay ageing. :P
