@zebratron2084 YES THIS. YESSSSSS. I have *got* to get together with you soon after I get back, I need a dose of political cynical-optimism. XD
Henlo frens!
I made an AntiFa Illustrator template that you can use to make your own AntiFa logo for your local region! It's all in vector so it scales beautifully. Great for stickers! Please feel free to use and share!
@emanate @ThatDamnCat I was 9, in California. I remember seeing pictures of the eruption, and of a town downwind getting *coated* in ash, like two feet deep, and then reading an article that showed how the ash from the eruption would blow eastward all the way around the world, but by the time it came back around to California it'd be so dispersed it'd only be detectable chemically, and being kind of disappointed. XD
@emanate nope, you were right... temperature is steadily climbing. the ash-overcast may be mitigating it somewhat, but not enough to be noticeable. uuggggggghhhhhh. at least we've got a good air conditioning system (which we bought ourselves of course)...
advertisement, technically speaking
@vahnj @green I am glad I have a box of these on hand and it sounds like that's a good idea for you folks, too. :( - 3M 8511PB1-A-PS Particulate N95 Respirator with Valve, 10-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002YKBV2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ciTRzb9QZ2V5Y
@emanate yah but it's "cloudier" today than it was yesterday. LET ME RETAIN THIS VESTIGE OF HOPE. ;_______;
on the "upside," all the smoke is simulating overcast, so it might not be as hot today as it was predicted to be.
on the other hand... literal ash falling from the sky. in Seattle. o________o
@vahnj it seems like a good idea for at least those disposable paper filter masks, if you have sensitivities, because this is awful. D:
wondering why the air is yellow and grainy in Seattle today? here's a handy map! http://www.dnr.wa.gov/Wildfires (you have to scroll down the page a bit for the map)
hey Portland people, how are you doing?? the Oregon fires look even worse currently. D:
@vahnj here's the article I saw from yesterday: http://www.king5.com/news/local/wildfires/wildfires-bring-smoke-air-quality-concerns-to-puget-sound/470678759
OH HEY HERE'S A MAP http://www.dnr.wa.gov/Wildfires holy crap look at Oregon. D:
@vahnj evidently there's a mountain between here and the coast that's on fire. air quality is supposedly "good" right now but is predicted to get less good as the day goes on, and may be downgraded to "actually bad." HOORAY :|
woo; crisis of faith
@MagentaForge I wish I could offer helpful words, but all I've got is... your mind/spirit is resilient, and so is the fabric of reality. things will stretch a very (absurdly) far way before they'll truly break.
that said... it *can* break, under certain circumstances; and... there really isn't a nice/good way to say it, but what you've signed up for is a program of study that includes "breaking one's own reality" on the syllabus. it's not a flaw, it's a feature. :]
@Jacel and I'm heading to a place where the temperature is about the same as it is here in Seattle now *and* it's constantly extremely humid! WHY AM I DOING THIS TO MYSELF. ;_____; oh right because DISNEYWORLD (and Universal Studios which has the JURASSIC PARK RIDE)
my first computer was a Merlin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlin_(game) and I loved that thing to death, omg. I played with it SO MUCH.
