" Pfft! So messy, yes. Best to be making one's own lightning instead! Much more controllable. And corpses? Mmh! Bioprint new tissue, far cheaper!
No digging around in graveyards in the rain! "

@Oneironott I can definitely share some of my techniques too! ^_^

@skolli@mastodon.social Ooh, I really dig that chain and lock collar/necklace!

Subnautia structure, spoilers

@Soreth @starkatt @Doephin Ooh yeah, I used the escape pods pretty often as reference, which was probably intentional in their placement. It was nice to have that incentive to go deeper, too, with the Degassi waypoints.

Subnautia structure, spoilers

@Doephin @starkatt Heh, I'm atypical, I used beacons initially for interesting wrecks but later just used them for the entrances to the major underground spaces. Much of the rest I just kinda figured out by memory.

Subnautia structure, spoilers

@starkatt @Doephin I tried connecting the airpipes from the surface down to my habitat, because I thought that's how it was supposed to work. It didn't. I ignored them afterwards. :-)

subnautica lategame / endgame musing

@starkatt This is a really fun thought. :-)

Subnautia structure, spoilers

@starkatt @starkatt Yeah, I really liked the tech-tree-gated style of progress. A lot like a Metroid game, but with less guidance for what's needed next and no map on where to find things.

I was immensely gratified at the end to find that I'd hoarded all the relevant elements to the end-game stuff over the course of the game, and thus built things very quickly.

@itsnero Heck, I still want to visit that library, have since I found out about it on Atlas Obscura. :-)

@Ulfra_Wolfe @CoronaCoreanici @emanate

Yeah, it really hits home some od the language origins too, and how cousin it is to German.

@CoronaCoreanici @emanate Did you stop at the "hem hath helpe wan that they were seke" part? That's where we ended. I just looked it back up and oh god I remember most of it apparently.

@literorrery Bird motto is pretty much also dragon motto. "You're a bird if you say you are."

I think we need to be teaching some scepticism, and that everyone should verify before they willingly trust random posts on the internet, as basic technological survival skills

we’re overwhelmingly unprepared for the idea that the top result on Google might be a paid ad which is actually a scam, unprepared for the idea that that 13k retweet screenshot showing something might actually be (poorly) edited

Lewd meta I guess? (-)

@memnus I still miss it off and on myself, but I've mostly gotten my erotic imagination back, which was one if the main things I missed badly. I still don't get off physically anymore, but I have plenty of good feelings anyway.
I suppose I don't miss being driven /by/ that libido. But the peovlem with it being more "on demand" now is that I still have to think about sexy things more deliberately, and even /that/ largely isn't automatic. Eh well. Maybe after GRS. :-)

dinosaur cocks!

@Leucrotta That's a pretty fascinating thing, yeah! Odd sort of reaction, but I suppose fascinating in an anthropomorphic sense.

Was thinking about April showers and May flowers this morning, and of all things to come to mind, I wasn't expecting the prologue to the Canturbury Tales, in old English.
I had to memorize it in high school, complete with the original pronounciation. Even did a related project where I wrote the whole thing out in calligraphy pen and "illuminated" the margins.
What the heck, brain.

Meanwhile, yeah, that phrase/idiom about showera and flowers has been around a /long/ time.
