This is a good take: https://cybre.space/@shel/3595280
@Soreth At the beginning, I would believe that. I've lost enough weight that I have to tie the waist, and it feels a bit makeshift and sloppy as a result.
Mind, I've put back on enough weight that that may no longer become a risk. I need to get my Qsymia refilled.
@Soreth I'm envious. The longest skirts I've found look like shapeless tubes tied around my waist.
@Soreth It is! I'll be making shrimp and lobster risotto.
@Felthry I enjoy it, but it's... fiddly.
Anarchism hot take
All this said, I accept that in many places, state violence demands a response, and that getting the masses to agree the existing government is evil is far easier than getting them to agree on what would be good. I also have no desire to make common cause with people who don't recognize me as human or respect the life I choose to live. As an autistic queer trans pan poly psychedelic mage, I assume I have fewer peers than most, and that informs my rejection of most governments.
Anarchism hot take
I'm not an anarchist; anarchism almost certainly leads to despotism without mutual trust. I just have no faith that any non-hyper-local government won't try to pass propriety laws I won't or can't obey. I'm really a revolutionary parpolitic mutual socialist, but "revolution" has violent connotations I disavow. I support antifa and self-defense, but not initiatory force, even against the state. My revolution rejects the national meta-narrative and social norms that I find toxic.
@bea Heavy reliance on workers' unions at a time when the biggest threat economically is automation, which is harder to unionize. It's also why I'm more of an minarcho-mutualist than a Marxist. I wish "classic communist" didn't invoke "classic liberal." I have to use parecon and parpolity to really explain where I'm at.
I'm an afrolatinx disabled neurodivergent trans person and I just lost my job and am in an emergency. Please share this and donate if you can. Everything is explained and broken down in the description of this link.
@starkatt Both, depending on your own personal frame. The sun is eight light minutes from Earth; it sets eight minutes before its light stops reaching us. When has it set?
@Fuego They have yet to disgrace themselves in any obvious fashion. I won't say "they're better" but I haven't caught them in anything terrible yet.
Hey lovely people of the fediverse! Have you read the Copenhagen Letter?

"To everyone
who shapes technology today " ...
@Gargron ... Fchan
@Fuego They've got an article on Antifa: Anti-Fascists or Violent Thrill-Seekers, too.
Fuck WaPo. Time for the Atlantic.
@vahnj @Oneironott @chr@cybre.space Tail wraps for winter. Scarves and hats. A broad assortment of bells and other jinglies. Collars for whose so inclined.
@vahnj Kobolds and kobold accessories.
